Nvidia has launched the local AI agent platform Portable Computer for Windows RTX PC users. The tool is designed to execute multi-step tasks directly on local hardware, leveraging Nvidia GPU acceleration to analyze data and handle repetitive workflows while keeping sensitive information on the device.
The platform integrates the Qwen 3.8 27B model, which has been fine-tuned for Perplexity Computer and optimized for Nvidia RTX GPUs. Users can access built-in tools such as a browser and the SPACE sandbox environment. For complex reasoning tasks, the system automatically identifies the need for cloud computing and requests user authorization before transmitting any data.
Portable Computer supports connectivity with platforms including Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and GitHub. It is compatible with Nvidia GeForce RTX and RTX PRO workstations equipped with at least 24GB of VRAM. Support for Nvidia DGX Station workstations is expected to be added in the near future.
