Nvidia has launched full production of the Groq 3 LPX inference system, with deployment scheduled before the end of 2026. This hardware is the first result of a $20 billion licensing agreement signed in December 2025, which granted Nvidia access to Groq's language processing unit designs.

The system features 256 language processing units with liquid cooling and is part of Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform. It offers up to 35 times higher throughput per megawatt compared to standard configurations. Nebius will be the first to deploy the technology via its Token Factory platform.

The partnership structure allowed Groq to remain independent while Nvidia acquired a non-exclusive license and hired key staff, including former CEO Jonathan Ross. Simon Edwards currently leads Groq, which manages 13 data centers worldwide and functions as an Nvidia Cloud Partner.

Groq's valuation reached $3.5 billion following two funding rounds in 2026: $650 million in June and $350 million in August. Nvidia participated in the August round, further strengthening its financial connection to the startup.
