Nvidia has committed $250 million in computing resources to support research on the safety of autonomous AI agents in the United Kingdom. The five-year program, announced on October 13, 2026, provides $50 million in processing power annually.
The initiative focuses on goal-oriented systems capable of independent action. Instead of direct cash grants, researchers at Oxford, UCL, and Imperial College London will receive access to compute infrastructure provided through UK-based Nvidia cloud partners.
This commitment follows the launch of Nvidia’s Open Agent Safety Platform on September 28, 2026. The program aligns with the UK government’s strategy to establish the nation as a global center for AI governance and safety evaluations.
