Nvidia has officially discontinued the standard Shield TV model and increased the price of the Shield TV Pro from $199.99 to $299.99. These changes are set to take effect on October 2, 2026.

The company attributed the price hike to rising costs of components, specifically DRAM, which have increased across the industry. Nvidia noted that the expansion of AI data centers has driven up demand for high-performance memory, impacting supply for consumer electronics.

The Shield TV Pro retains its original 2019 hardware specifications, including the Tegra X1+ processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Despite the lack of hardware updates, the device continues to support 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, and AI-enhanced upscaling.

Nvidia has not announced a new generation of Shield TV hardware. The company continues to provide software updates for the existing platform, though resources are increasingly focused on AI GPU and data center operations rather than the consumer TV box segment.
