Nvidia has announced a price increase for the Shield TV Pro, which will cost $299 starting October 2. The company attributes this adjustment to the rising costs of industry components, specifically citing a shortage in memory supply.
Alongside the price hike, Nvidia has officially discontinued the standard Shield TV model. This decision leaves the Shield TV Pro as the sole streaming device remaining in the company's current product lineup.
The Shield TV Pro, which has been on the market for seven years, is powered by the Tegra X1+ processor. It features 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and supports 4K HDR playback at 60 FPS, as well as various high-resolution audio formats.
Despite the official price update, the device is currently difficult to locate at major retailers. A listing for the 16GB model was observed at Best Buy for $249.21, though the product is marked as out of stock.
