Nvidia has raised the price of its Shield TV Pro streaming device by $100, bringing the new retail cost to $299.99. The adjustment took effect on October 2nd. The company attributes this decision to the rising costs of components caused by the ongoing memory shortage.

The Shield TV Pro originally launched with a Tegra X1+ processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage for $199.99. Alongside this price hike, Nvidia has officially discontinued the standard Shield TV model, which previously offered 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage for $149.99.

Nvidia is shifting its manufacturing focus entirely to the Pro version. The company notes that high demand for its other hardware, specifically GPUs and AI chips, has significantly impacted component pricing. Meanwhile, competitors like the Google TV Streamer remain available at a lower price point of $149.
