Developer Hoani Bryson has modified a classic Nokia 3310 feature phone to run his custom game, Trick Shot II. The project involved replacing the internal hardware with a custom printed circuit board based on the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller.

The modification allows the device to retain its original screen and physical keypad while significantly increasing its processing power. This upgrade was necessary because the complexity of the game exceeded the capabilities of the original Nokia 3310 hardware.

The project originated from the Nokia 3310 Jam 8 game development event, where Bryson secured first place. While the competition did not require games to run on actual vintage hardware, Bryson chose to adapt the device to support his creation.

Bryson has shared the technical development details on his personal website for those interested in replicating the hardware modification. Additionally, the game Trick Shot II remains accessible to the public via a web browser.
