Nio has officially announced a recall for its Firefly electric vehicles following a notification filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation. The recall, registered under number S2026M0114V, affects a total of 686 vehicles manufactured between March 20, 2026, and April 2, 2026.

The technical issue stems from manufacturing process fluctuations, which may cause interference between the steering column torque sensor wiring harness and the sensor rotor. In extreme scenarios, this interference can lead to abnormal sensor signals, triggering the electronic steering system warning light and causing a loss of power steering assistance.

The company will provide free inspections for all affected vehicles to check for potential interference. If the issue is identified, Nio will replace the sensor wiring harness to eliminate the safety risk. Vehicles that have already undergone relevant repairs are exempt from further inspection as part of this recall program.
