Nio has achieved a new operational milestone for its battery-swapping network in China. During the National Day holiday week, which ran from October 1 to October 7, the company's infrastructure performed 1,192,221 battery swaps.
The network currently consists of approximately 4,100 battery swap stations. According to the company's holiday report, the daily average number of swaps during this period was nearly 22% higher than the figures recorded during the same holiday week in the previous year.
The total energy demand for these swaps reached more than 24.83 million kWh. A significant portion of this activity was attributed to highway travelers utilizing the stations throughout the week.
The battery-swapping process allows drivers to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in three to five minutes. At the peak of the holiday period, the system handled 175,000 swaps in a single day.
