Following the release of the first jailbreak method for the Nintendo Switch 2 last week, users have demonstrated the console running unofficial software. A video shared by user @byizmysh shows the device executing a YouTube client based on the open-source VacuumTube project. This implementation utilizes the jailbreak solution previously developed by Sammy Hajhamid, known online as pepsipu.

Beyond video playback, security researcher and homebrew developer Gezine has proposed an untethered exploit concept for the console. This method involves using an installer to write a vulnerability chain into the system save data, which triggers upon the next boot to grant user-level access. This approach aims to facilitate the execution of homebrew applications and emulators.

While the concept of an untethered exploit has generated significant interest among enthusiasts, it has not yet been released to the public. These developments follow recent reports regarding the appearance of a version of the Switch 2 with a user-replaceable battery in the US FCC certification database, as well as the release of the ns2jb software cracking solution.
