Nintendo has released an official battery replacement guide for the European version of the Switch 2 console. While the documentation is now available, the company has not yet started selling the official replacement battery components.

According to the guide, the process is only applicable to the Switch 2 model BEE-001 (-01). To perform the replacement, users need a PH00 Phillips screwdriver and the BEE-003 (-01) battery unit. The design avoids the use of adhesives, which reduces the risk of damage during disassembly.

The procedure requires removing game cards, microSD Express cards, and Joy-Con 2 controllers before unscrewing the back, bottom, and top panels. The rear cover is secured by four additional screws on the sides. The battery connects via metal contacts, eliminating the need to disconnect cables or plugs.

Nintendo notes that the battery slot features a non-reversible design to prevent incorrect installation. Before reassembling the device, the manufacturer advises checking the alignment of the top buttons and microphone, and ensuring no screws have adhered to internal magnets.
