Starting from the evening of September 5, users across platforms like X and Reddit reported that their Nintendo Switch 2 consoles were banned from accessing most internet services. Many affected owners claimed they had not used unauthorized cartridges, modified save files, or third-party gift cards.
By the morning of September 7, numerous players confirmed that their previously restricted devices had automatically regained full functionality. The bans were lifted without requiring manual intervention from the users.
A South Korean user contacted Nintendo customer support regarding the issue. The company officially attributed the widespread connectivity restrictions to a temporary system error.
