The Universal Electronic Module (UEM) developed by Nilstar now utilizes the K1921VG015 microcontroller from NIIET, a subsidiary of the Element group. This component is based on the RISC-V open architecture and is officially registered as industrial product number 10887129.

The 32-bit microcontroller provides hardware-level security, including a cryptographic block and a true random number generator for secure data exchange. It also features low power consumption and operates within a temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.

Nilstar intends to add its terminal based on the UEM to the Russian Industrial Products Registry in September 2026. This certification will enable the equipment to be deployed in retail, gas stations, and passenger transport sectors.

The integration of the NIIET microcontroller supports the domestic import substitution policy for payment infrastructure. Nilstar is currently working on incorporating a certified Russian cryptographic protection module into the UEM design.
