Nikon has showcased its upcoming NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix. The lens, currently in development, was spotted in use by a photographer. It has previously undergone field testing at the French Open and the 2026 North American World Cup.

The lens is part of the S-Line series for full-frame Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It features a built-in 1.4x teleconverter, extending the focal range from 120-300mm to 168-420mm with an aperture change to f/4. It includes VR optical stabilization and is designed to integrate with flagship bodies like the Z9 and Z8.

Physically, the lens measures approximately 112mm in diameter and 200mm in length, making it more compact than the existing Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S. Reports suggest an official launch by the end of October, though initial production volume is expected to be limited, leading to potential delivery delays.

While official pricing remains unannounced, industry rumors suggest the cost may exceed the current Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, which is priced at ¥99,999. Other unconfirmed reports estimate a price point around $8,000. Nikon is also expected to release the Z70 camera in November, though this date remains subject to change.
