The next-generation BYD Seagull will feature advanced charging capabilities, allowing the battery to reach 70% capacity in 5 minutes and 97% in approximately 9 minutes. Even in extreme cold conditions of -30 degrees Celsius, the charging time increases by only 3 minutes.

The vehicle will be equipped with LFP batteries in 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh capacities, offering a CLTC range of 320 km and 420 km respectively. These figures translate to roughly 259 km and 340 km under the WLTP standard. Reports suggest the Flash Charging technology may be exclusive to the higher-end 39.2 kWh models.

During the 10% to 70% charging phase, the system can maintain an average power of 282 kW, equivalent to a 7C rate. Peak power is expected to exceed 300 kW during the initial stage of the session. This performance significantly outpaces most competitors in the compact segment, which typically support charging speeds below 100 kW.

The new model will also introduce an upgraded thermal management system for the battery. This marks a departure from the current base versions, which rely on air cooling. The transition to a more sophisticated cooling solution is intended to improve charging efficiency and overall battery longevity.
