NewSchool VC, founded by Christophe Morbee, has officially closed its debut fund at €10 million. The firm reached this target after an initial close of €6.1 million in September. Morbee personally contributed 25% of the total capital, with the remaining funds provided by approximately 50 investors, including six family offices and various Belgian entrepreneurs.

The fund focuses on B2B technology companies, drawing on Morbee’s experience with his payroll and HR firm, Besox, which employs 110 people and expects €15 million in revenue this year. Besox’s network of 4,000 SME customers provides a pipeline for portfolio companies. To date, NewSchool has made 32 investments, with 75% of them located in Belgium and the remainder across Europe.

The portfolio includes companies such as Ravical, which raised €7.3 million, and Warren, which secured a €10 million seed round. The fund also co-led a €1 million pre-seed round for Alice. Recent investments have expanded into Austria and France with startups like Talentir. The firm emphasizes providing operational support in sales and marketing alongside capital.

NewSchool operates within a growing landscape of smaller, founder-led investment vehicles in Europe. Other notable funds include Belgium-based Pitchdrive, which closed at €60 million, and the 100IN fund, which raised €12 million to issue 100 checks of €100,000 each. Additionally, Berlin-based seed+speed recently closed a fund at €90 million targeting B2B software.
