Three new smartphones featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Extreme Edition are scheduled for release this October. According to industry leaks, these devices will come equipped with high-capacity batteries ranging from 8400mAh to 10000mAh.

The upcoming models will support fast wired charging at 100W or 120W, alongside full-speed wireless charging capabilities. The market will see a simultaneous presence of Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition, Gen 5, and Gen 6 chips in various performance-focused handsets.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Extreme Edition, announced by Qualcomm on September 23, features a peak frequency exceeding 5.0GHz. The architecture includes two 5GHz super cores and six 4GHz performance cores, resulting in a 13% performance boost and 37% better energy efficiency.

The chip integrates Adreno Matrix Cores designed for AI tasks and 18MB of dedicated high-speed Adreno memory. These enhancements allow for Unreal Engine 5 Lumen ray tracing, while the GPU delivers a 44% performance increase and 40% improvement in energy efficiency.
