Modders have introduced new software tools for jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles, enabling features not officially supported by Sony. These developments include cloud gaming capabilities and compatibility layers for Windows software.

Developer Rafael Abud Ferreira released PSBox Cloud Gaming version 0.9.5. This application allows users to access Xbox Cloud Gaming on the PS5, supporting 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, AMD FSR 1, and Anime4K upscaling, alongside DualSense controller integration.

Separately, an enthusiast known as Mihawk is developing PS5 Proton (PP). This utility is based on Valve’s Proton and aims to run Windows games directly on the console without requiring a Linux installation. It is designed to support 32-bit and 64-bit titles, as well as DirectX, Vulkan, and OpenGL APIs.

The project is expected to evolve into Mihawk OS, which the creator describes as a Windows 11 clone for the PS5. Additionally, the modding community is actively working on various emulators for the console, including support for PS2, PS3, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch titles.
