Apple has released the iOS 27.0.1 update, which addresses a specific issue where opening the notification center and control center simultaneously caused the touchscreen to become unresponsive. However, users report that a new display bug persists on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models.
The issue is triggered by a specific sequence of actions on the home screen. Users must long-press an app icon to enter edit mode, drag a widget with one finger, and then tap the page indicator at the bottom of the screen. Navigating to another page after these steps causes the system to crash.
The problem appears to be limited to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Tests conducted on the iPhone 17 series running iOS 27 did not reproduce the bug. Reports of the crash have been confirmed by users on social media platform X and through physical testing at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in New York.
