The State Administration for Market Regulation has introduced the JJF 2385—2026 standard, titled Acoustic Performance Testing Specification for Smart Glasses. This national technical regulation officially takes effect on October 2, establishing a unified framework for evaluating audio quality in wearable devices.
The standard focuses on two primary modules: sound recording and sound playback. It mandates testing across three key dimensions, including frequency response for recording and playback, microphone directional performance for distinguishing user speech from background noise, and sound leakage prevention to protect privacy.
Testing procedures require the use of specialized equipment, such as head and torso simulators, measurement microphones, and acoustic analyzers. All evaluations must be conducted within an anechoic chamber to eliminate environmental interference and ensure the reliability of the collected data.
This regulation serves as a technical basis for product development and quality control. By providing standardized metrics, the authorities aim to prevent misleading technical specifications and encourage manufacturers to prioritize actual user experience and hearing health in their acoustic designs.
