Nevermind (NVM) has officially launched its venture capital operations, securing €23.6 million in the first close of its NVM Venture Lazio compartment. The fund aims for a final target of €35 million to support 10–15 startups at the Pre-Seed and Seed stages. The strategy focuses on dual-use deeptech companies with international growth potential, specifically targeting the Lazio region in Italy.

Lazio Innova acts as a key investor, contributing €18.83 million through the Lazio Venture 2 fund of funds. This initiative is supported by the ERDF Regional Programme 2021–2027. The fund is led by founding partners Andrea Bonabello and Niccolò Bienati, with Giorgio Gulienetti and Alessandro Casiraghi serving as fund managers for the Lazio compartment.

The investment scope covers critical sectors including aerospace, maritime, robotics, cybersecurity, AI for defence, energy infrastructure, and biotechnology. The Lazio region currently hosts over 300 advanced technology companies employing approximately 23,000 people. These firms generate annual revenues exceeding €5 billion, with exports accounting for €1.6 billion of that total.

The fund utilizes a multi-compartment model designed to pair specific investment theses with specialized teams. This structure provides emerging managers with a shared framework for governance and risk management. The leadership team emphasizes that their role involves identifying early-stage technologies in university labs and spin-offs to guide them through complex procurement cycles.
