NEAR Intents has successfully recovered $3,8 million in user funds following a security breach that occurred on Thursday. The incident was linked to a vulnerability within the Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure as it interacted with the NEAR Intents smart contract.

The project team identified the individual responsible for the exploit and issued a 48-hour ultimatum to return the assets. Following this demand, the hacker sent the full amount back to the protocol. General manager Alex Shevchenko confirmed the recovery on X and stated that the internal investigation has been closed.

Prior to the recovery, blockchain investigator ZachXBT tracked the stolen funds, noting they had been moved to the KuCoin exchange and bridged to Bitcoin. Before the assets were returned, NEAR Intents had paused its services and committed to fully compensating all affected users.
