The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is launching its IPO, with the subscription window running from September 17 to September 21, 2026. Shares are expected to list on the Bombay Stock Exchange around September 24. The offering is an offer-for-sale of 126.4 million existing shares.
The price band for the IPO is set between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785 per share, valuing the company at approximately $52 billion. Major institutional sellers include the State Bank of India and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, while LIC is not participating.
The NSE previously delayed its public offering due to regulatory investigations into co-location and dark-fibre controversies. The Securities and Exchange Board of India granted clearance in early September 2026 after resolving these issues.
NSE shares have historically represented 50% of trading volume on unlisted platforms. With recent unlisted prices ranging from ₹1,950 to ₹2,200, the IPO pricing creates a potential disruption for brokers and investors who previously traded these assets at a premium.
