NASA has released a public archive containing over 800 GB of data collected during the Artemis II crewed lunar mission, which took place in April 2026. The dataset includes two detailed PDF reports and a guide for data navigation.
The collection features more than 11,000 photos and videos, alongside over 8.5 hours of audio recordings, including crew communications. Astronauts spent nearly seven hours photographing the lunar surface from the Orion spacecraft during their closest approach.
The materials document specific lunar phenomena, such as meteorite impact flashes observed by the crew. Additionally, the archive contains extensive imagery of Earth, capturing atmospheric effects, weather patterns, and celestial objects visible when the Moon obscured the Sun.
