NASA has officially incorporated Blue Origin’s New Glenn 9x4 launch vehicle into its Launch Services II contract. This addition follows the contract's on-ramp clause, which allows for the periodic inclusion of new launch providers and vehicles into the existing agreement.
The NLS II contract structure is designed as an indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity arrangement. It remains active for orders through June 2030, with a total performance period extending until December 2032.
The program supports various agency divisions, including the Human Spaceflight, Science, and Research and Technology Mission Directorates. Additionally, NASA may utilize these services to facilitate launches for other government entities, such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Management of the NLS II contracts is handled by the Launch Services Program Office, which is based at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
