Nanya Technology executives recently discussed the current state of the DRAM market during a corporate briefing. The company anticipates that the ongoing supply shortage will persist until early 2028, driven by structural shifts in the industry linked to artificial intelligence development.
The delay in project construction and the delivery of semiconductor manufacturing equipment have slowed the installation and commissioning of new production capacity. Consequently, improvements in the supply side are expected to be postponed.
Currently, 50 to 70 percent of Nanya Technology's production capacity is tied to long-term agreements. Contracts spanning three years account for more than 20 percent of the total output. The company plans to increase the share of these agreements to provide more stable supply guarantees.
Looking ahead, the company aims to significantly expand its footprint in the AI infrastructure sector. Nanya Technology targets increasing the revenue contribution from AI-related business to between 40 and 50 percent by the 2029 to 2030 period.
