Elon Musk has suggested the potential creation of a new e-commerce platform to compete with Amazon. This statement followed reports that Amazon blocked the Grok Bot AI agent from placing orders on its website.

Grok Bot is a cloud-based AI agent developed by xAI, capable of performing multi-step tasks such as operating web browsers and applications. Last month, Tesla integrated this AI into its vehicles, allowing users to delegate shopping tasks while commuting.

Amazon has reportedly restricted access for both Grok Bot and Meta's Muse AI shopping agent. The retailer is simultaneously developing its own internal AI-driven shopping tools to manage traffic and transaction flows.

The discussion began when a user on the X platform highlighted the blocking of Grok Bot and suggested that Musk launch a service called X Shop. Musk responded to the post by proposing the development of a direct competitor to Amazon.
