The Russian developer Multifactor has released a major update for its two-factor authentication and access control system. The platform, which is included in the Russian software registry under number 7046 and holds an FSTEC certificate, supports RDP, VPN, VDI, and SSH connections.
The update introduces a customizable role-based access model for administrators, allowing for the implementation of the principle of least privilege. Additionally, administrators can now set limits on the number of devices, such as smartphones or tokens, that a single user can register for authentication.
New communication features allow administrators to customize SMS content to align with corporate branding. The system also now sends automated notifications to users via email or the interface whenever their 2FA settings are modified, ensuring transparency regarding account security.
The self-service portal now supports Kerberos ticket authentication alongside standard login and password methods. According to product lead Ivan Demkin, these enhancements are designed to improve administrative flexibility, strengthen access control, and address current cybersecurity requirements.
