MTS has enabled QR-code payments for users of its My MTS application in Colombia and Argentina. The service integrates with local instant payment systems, allowing transactions at most retail locations including supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels.
Users can make payments directly from their ruble accounts or Russian bank cards. The system automatically converts funds into local currencies at the time of the transaction. No commission is charged for these operations.
Transaction limits are set at 315,000 ₽ for Colombia and 400,000 ₽ for Argentina. Purchases under 5,000 ₽ do not require SMS confirmation, enabling payments even without an active mobile connection.
The service is currently available in five Latin American countries and over 15 nations globally, including Egypt, Vietnam, China, and the Philippines. MTS plans to continue expanding the list of supported destinations.
