MTS has deployed mobile network infrastructure in the village of Zelenodolsk, located in the Aniva district of the Sakhalin region. This project, carried out in partnership with the regional Ministry of Digital Development, provides residents with voice services and mobile internet speeds reaching up to 70 Mbps.
The new infrastructure covers a settlement with a population of approximately 40 people, where cellular coverage was previously unavailable. The deployment also supports the Taranaisky salmon hatchery, enabling the implementation of digital solutions for the aquaculture facility.
In September 2026, the operator launched LTE services in several locations within the Korsakovsky and Tomarinsky districts. According to Shamil Chekmarev, director of MTS in the Sakhalin region, the company plans to expand LTE coverage to the Nevelsky, Kholmsky, Uglegorsky, Tymovsky, and Makarovsky districts by the end of 2026.
