MTS has deployed mobile connectivity on the Prigorodnoye-Ozerskoye highway section near the village of Utesnoye. The new infrastructure provides voice services and mobile internet with speeds up to 60 Mbps for the first time in this area.

The new base station in Utesnoye provides 2G and 4G coverage for a strategic municipal road connecting the port of Korsakov, and the villages of Prigorodnoye and Ozerskoye. Prigorodnoye hosts a large hydrocarbon production and shipment complex, while Korsakov is a key Far East port.

The network expansion also benefits tourists visiting the southern lakes and hills of Sakhalin, providing them with access to digital services. The company is focusing on ensuring connectivity on key highways for safety reasons.

MTS is currently finalizing a network development program that has already provided high-speed internet on the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk-Okha, Prigorodnoye-Ozerskoye, and Nevelsk-Shakhtersk highways. Additionally, by the end of 2026, LTE coverage will be expanded in the Nevelsky, Kholmsky, Tomarinsky, Uglegorsky, Tymovsky, Nogliksky, Smirnykhovsky, Makarovsky, and Dolinsky districts.
