MTS has expanded its fixed-line network in the Kirov region, connecting approximately 5,000 households to high-speed home internet since the beginning of 2026. The expansion primarily focused on the cities of Kirov and Kirovo-Chepetsk, covering both new residential developments and existing housing stock.
In Kirov, over 4,000 apartments gained access to speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s, while an additional 600 households were connected in Kirovo-Chepetsk. This infrastructure supports high-bandwidth activities such as 4K video streaming, online conferencing, and the operation of smart home systems, including surveillance and climate control sensors.
The company currently operates its fixed network in three major cities within the region. Coverage of multi-story buildings stands at 94% in Kirov, 85% in Kirovo-Chepetsk, and 55% in Slobodskoy. According to regional director Alexey Kozin, the company continues to invest in network modernization to meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity.
