MTS has upgraded its broadband infrastructure to gigabit speeds at the Novy Urengoy Multidisciplinary College and the Novy Urengoy Gas Industry Technical School. The infrastructure improvements support the All-Russian 'Master of the Year' competition for vocational education teachers, held from September 28 to October 2, 2026, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The network upgrade enables participants from 89 Russian regions to utilize digital tools such as AR solutions, interactive whiteboards, and AI-powered video conferencing platforms during the event. Additionally, MTS installed seven free Wi-Fi access points at the gas industry technical school to cover the auditorium and classrooms.

The 'Master of the Year' competition is part of the federal 'Professionalitet' project under the 'Youth and Children' national project. The event is organized by the Russian Ministry of Education and the All-Russian Education Trade Union, with the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education serving as the federal operator.

According to Vladimir Drozdov, director of MTS in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the company's MTS Link platform is currently used as an import-substitution solution for online education in over 90 Russian academic institutions.
