MTS has integrated a new fundraising feature into its MTS Pay payment service, allowing businesses to collect donations for social initiatives directly on the payment screen. Users can now contribute to charity during the checkout process, with donations processed as separate transactions from their primary purchases.
The service supports payments via Russian bank cards, mobile phone accounts, the Faster Payments System (SBP), and Sberpay. When a user selects this option, a dedicated screen appears, allowing them to enter a custom donation amount. Once the transaction is confirmed, the user is redirected back to the original payment page.
The charitable foundation Sistema became the first partner to utilize the new platform. MTS intends to expand the program by inviting other verified non-profit organizations across various regions to join, regardless of their scale. The company aims to integrate this functionality into the payment interfaces of its external partners.
According to MTS, the initial testing phase involved several hundred transactions directed to the Sistema foundation. The service is currently available for payments within the MTS ecosystem, including the Kion streaming platform, the Urent service, and the company's online store.
