MSI has introduced the B550 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard, designed for the AMD Socket AM4 platform. This updated version of the original model features a refreshed aesthetic and includes integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity.
The hardware configuration includes a 6-layer 2-ounce copper PCB and an 8+2+1 phase power design with a single 8-pin EPS CPU power connector. The board supports memory overclocking speeds of 5100+ MT/s across its four DIMM slots.
The connectivity options have been adjusted compared to the previous model. The number of SATA ports has been reduced from six to four, and the wired network configuration now features a single 2.5GbE port instead of the previous dual-port setup.
Expansion capabilities include one PCIe Gen4 x16 slot, one physical full-length PCIe Gen3 x4 slot, and two PCIe Gen3 x1 slots. Storage options consist of two M.2 slots supporting PCIe Gen4 x4/SATA and PCIe Gen3 x4, alongside USB-C ports with 10Gbps and 5Gbps speeds.
