Mozilla has officially launched Firefox Enterprise, a version of its browser tailored for corporate environments. The product is designed to address the growing demand for digital sovereignty among organizations, particularly those operating within Europe.

The browser is built on the Gecko engine, which Mozilla describes as the only remaining independent major browser engine. This architecture offers institutions an alternative to existing market standards, reducing reliance on a single underlying technology.

Firefox Enterprise includes a management console that organizations can host on their own infrastructure. This tool allows IT departments to centralize browser policy management, configure access rights, control data transmission, and implement restrictions on AI usage.

The rollout begins in Europe, with initial availability focused on France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Mozilla plans to expand the service to additional markets in the future and is currently developing an enterprise version of the Thunderbird email client.
