The generative art project Mosaic, developed by the Bitcoin Art Society (BAS), utilizes satoshi data and unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) to create a continuously evolving audiovisual composition. The system translates numerical properties of bitcoin into spatial coordinates, colors, and musical scores, treating the network as a permanent medium for contemporary art.

According to the artist known as BitArt, the project currently consists of over 127 million tiles and more than one billion layers. The artist notes that viewing every layer at a rate of one per second would require over 30 years to complete. The work is deterministic but produces results that are not fully predictable in practice due to the scale of human-driven data.

Founded by Serge Ajamian and Yara Al Chammaa, the Bitcoin Art Society aims to support the exhibition and preservation of digital art on the bitcoin network. The organization has previously presented Mosaic at the Galileo Galilei Planetarium in Buenos Aires, featuring live musical accompaniment.

The project is scheduled for a presentation at Bitcoin Amsterdam 2026, where it will be displayed on the conference's main-stage LED installation. Additionally, BitArt is collaborating with BAS on an upcoming exhibition at the Postmasters gallery in New York City, which will explore communication and collaboration between different digital artworks.
