Morpho Midnight has expanded its fixed-rate lending protocol to include all USDC markets available on Morpho Blue. This update enables users to place individual and multi-market limit orders for fixed-rate lending using collateral options such as cbBTC, WBTC, wETH, and tokenized stocks.
The platform, which launched on July 21, 2026, on the Base blockchain, initially focused on cbBTC/USDC markets. By September 8, 2026, it expanded to Ethereum, incorporating USDC markets paired with WBTC and cbBTC. Midnight utilizes a peer-to-peer matching model rather than the algorithmic rate-setting used by platforms like Aave or Compound.
As of late September 2026, Morpho Midnight reached approximately $30 million in deposits. This figure represents about 0.2% of the total deposits held by the broader Morpho Blue ecosystem, which currently manages over $16 billion in deposits and more than $5.2 billion in outstanding loans.
The protocol's multi-market offer feature allows lenders to quote liquidity across several asset types simultaneously without splitting their capital. A callback mechanism ensures that funds remain productive while awaiting a match, aiming to solve liquidity challenges that previously affected fixed-rate DeFi protocols like Notional or Yield Protocol.
