Mark Yusko, CEO of Morgan Creek Capital, stated that bitcoin is currently undervalued. According to his assessment, the fair market value of the cryptocurrency is $105 000, calculated using Metcalfe’s Law. This model, tracked by Tim Peterson, suggests that the network value correlates with the square of its user base.
The asset recently traded at $75 701, which is 40% below its October 2025 peak of $126 080. Yusko described the current price as a discount, advising investors to accumulate the asset. He argued that bitcoin serves as a superior long-term store of value compared to equities, noting that 85% of companies disappear over a 30-year period.
The market outlook for bitcoin has been influenced by U.S. Treasury liquidity-support buyback operations, which expanded in August. This policy weakened the dollar and bolstered non-yielding assets. While interest in the debasement trade shifted toward artificial intelligence stocks after October, analysts suggest the trend remains a factor for bitcoin's performance.
