The lending protocol Moonwell has initiated a new governance proposal to rebalance liquidity incentives for its Ethereum and Base networks. Holders of the WELL token are currently casting their votes on the measure, which is part of the project's recurring monthly series of Moonwell Improvement Proposals.

These automated adjustments aim to optimize capital distribution by modifying supply and borrow APRs for assets such as ETH and USDC. The protocol recalibrates rewards based on real-time market utilization rates and competitive conditions across different blockchain networks.

Moonwell manages its governance via the Ethereum mainnet. While the protocol previously operated on multiple chains including Moonbeam, it is currently phasing out that presence to focus resources on Ethereum and Base. Official updates are tracked through the MoonwellGov account.

Recent monthly proposals, specifically MIP-X59, MIP-X62, and MIP-X65, received approval from over 99% of participants. The WELL token functions both as a governance tool for voting and as the primary currency used for incentive distribution among lenders and borrowers.
