Moonshot AI, the developer of the Kimi chatbot, aims to reach $2 billion in annualized recurring revenue by the end of 2026. This target follows a significant growth period, with ARR rising from $300 million in June to $1 billion by August.

The surge in revenue is attributed to the July 16 launch of the Kimi K3 model. This model features 2.8 trillion parameters and a 1 million token context window. The company claims the K3 model offers better performance than competitors at a lower operational cost.

The startup is preparing for a potential IPO in Hong Kong, which could raise approximately $3 billion. Moonshot is also discussing a possible dual listing on the Shanghai STAR Market and is currently restructuring its offshore corporate setup to facilitate the process.

In May 2026, the company raised $2 billion at a valuation of $20 billion. By July, its valuation increased to $35 billion. Moonshot was founded in March 2023.

On September 10, the company introduced the Kimi Enterprise Partner Program. This initiative focuses on distributing AI technology through partnerships with Chinese IT service providers, expanding beyond direct API sales and consumer subscriptions.
