MoonPay, a fintech company based in Miami, has announced plans to acquire North Capital, a firm registered with the SEC. The transaction is valued at $60 million and will be executed entirely through a stock swap, meaning no cash will be exchanged.

This acquisition is part of a broader strategy to expand MoonPay's regulatory capabilities. By integrating an SEC-registered entity, the company gains access to services requiring broker-dealer or investment adviser oversight, complementing its existing New York BitLicense and Limited Purpose Trust Charter.

Since 2025, MoonPay has completed at least nine acquisitions. Previous notable deals include the purchase of Helio for $175 million and Sodot for approximately $100 million in April 2026. These moves support the development of MoonPay Institutional, which launched in April 2026.

The company focuses on generating revenue through transaction and service fees rather than token issuance. While the acquisition strategy aims to build a full-stack financial services provider, the firm now faces the challenge of integrating these diverse assets into a unified product ecosystem.
