Montech has expanded its product line from PC cases to air and liquid coolers, fans, and power supplies. The Century II line is designed for the value-conscious market, positioning itself between the budget-friendly original Century series and the premium Titan series. The 850W model serves as the entry point for this family.
The unit is fully modular and complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, featuring a native 12V-2x6 cable rated for 600W. The hardware includes two 6+2-pin PCIe cables with four connectors, two EPS 8-pin CPU cables, two SATA chains with four connectors each, and one Molex chain. The chassis measures 160mm in length and features a two-tone matte silver and black design.
Internal components include a 135mm Hong Hua fan with fluid-dynamic bearings and a maximum speed of 2000 RPM. The unit is manufactured by OEM Shenzhen Xinweiye Technology (XWY). It uses 100% Japanese capacitors from manufacturers such as Rubycon, Nippon Chemi-Con, and Toshin Kogyo. The primary inversion stage uses a half-bridge LLC topology with PIP Semiconductor MOSFETs.
In cold testing at 115 VAC, the unit averaged 90.5% efficiency, while at 230 VAC it reached 92.5%. It holds 80Plus Gold certification and is independently certified by Cybenetics as Platinum. The voltage regulation on the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V rails is 0.4%, 0.5%, and 0.4% respectively. Ripple suppression at 100% load peaked at 30 mV for the 12V rail, 24 mV for the 5V rail, and 22 mV for the 3.3V rail.
The power supply features four protection mechanisms: OCP, OVP, OPP, and SCP. During hot-box stress tests, OPP triggered at approximately 124% of the 850W output, allowing for sustained delivery of roughly 1,050W. The unit is priced at $90 and comes with a 10-year warranty.
