MoneyGram, a remittance firm serving approximately 60 million customers, has joined the XDC Network as an institutional validator. This role requires the company to stake XDC tokens to participate in network governance, transaction confirmation, and ledger maintenance.
The XDC Network focuses on payments, trade finance, and real-world assets. MoneyGram joins a validator set of over 20 institutional operators, including SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom, NTT DOCOMO Global, Clear Street, Hex Trust, and Taurus.
This move follows MoneyGram's previous blockchain initiatives. Since 2019, the company has partnered with public blockchains, including the use of the Stellar network for USDC conversions since October 2021 and the launch of its own stablecoin, MGUSD, in June 2026.
In 2026, MoneyGram also became a node operator on the Midnight network and a validator on the Tempo and Solana networks. Despite these infrastructure roles, the company has not yet moved its MGUSD stablecoin or customer settlement flows to the XDC Network.
