The Moab City Council has approved a two-year sponsorship agreement with FCA US LLC, designating Jeep as the official 4WD partner of the city. The deal involves a total payment of $250 000, with annual installments of $125 000. The first payment is scheduled within 45 days of the contract taking effect.
Under the terms of the pilot program, Jeep will provide five vehicles on loan to the city. Local officials estimate this arrangement saves the municipality approximately $200 000 in costs related to leasing, purchasing, and insurance. Additionally, the city plans to auction existing vehicles, which could generate between $50 000 and $75 000.
Jeep has committed to a $10 million media value support pledge, covering advertising and promotional content. In return, the brand gains exclusive sponsorship rights and a global license to use the Moab name and event footage. The city manager retains the right to review and approve marketing materials before they are released.
The partnership also includes operational commitments from Jeep, such as executing at least two trail maintenance or preservation projects annually. The brand will sponsor two community events per year, produce two promotional videos, and publish four social media posts. The city intends to hire a part-time staff member to manage the contract.
