The National Payment Card System (NSPK) has officially launched a new service enabling contactless payments via smartwatches using Mir cards. Users can complete transactions by activating the watch screen and bringing the device to a payment terminal, mirroring the experience of smartphone-based contactless payments.

A key technical feature of the service is the ability to process payments without an active internet connection. Transaction data is stored directly on the wearable device, allowing users to pay at terminals even when disconnected from mobile networks or Wi-Fi. This functionality is available to customers of banks participating in the Mir Pay ecosystem.

The initiative was first announced by NSPK during a technology conference in June 2026. While the official release did not specify supported hardware, reports indicate that the feature is currently operational on Huawei Watch 4 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 models. The company intends to expand the list of compatible devices in the future.
