MintNeuro, a spinout from Imperial College London, secured $5 million in a funding round led by Odyssey Ventures. Other participants included 33East, JSK Investments, Alumni Ventures, Empirical Ventures, and Jumpspace Ventures. The capital will support the company's transition from technology validation to commercial scale-up.
The startup develops specialized semiconductor platforms for neural devices, including brain-computer interfaces, neuromodulation systems, and sensory prostheses. Its technology handles core functions such as neural sensing, signal processing, and electrical stimulation. This architecture aims to reduce device size and power consumption while improving system integration.
The company has already reached integration milestones with partners like Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics. A multi-year commercial supply agreement with Motif supports the development of a neurostimulator for treatment-resistant depression. MintNeuro's technology is also being evaluated by various research teams for implantable systems.
CEO Dorian Haci stated that the investment will facilitate faster product launches and expand the company's customer base. MintNeuro intends to use the funds to hire more engineering and commercial staff. Furthermore, the firm plans to strengthen its presence in the United States, complementing its existing operations in the UK and Europe.
