Minisforum has unveiled the S5, a new NAS device built on the Intel Wildcat Lake processor architecture. The system features a passive cooling design where the chassis itself functions as a heat sink, eliminating the need for active fans.
The device is powered by an Intel Core 3 304 processor with five cores and comes equipped with 16 GB of RAM. For storage, the S5 includes eight SSD slots, supporting a total capacity of up to 40 TB. A dedicated 64 GB drive is provided for the MinisCloud OS.
Connectivity options on the S5 include one 10GbE port, one 2.5GbE port, two USB4 ports, and Wi-Fi 7 support. The unit measures 177 x 60 x 154 mm. Minisforum has scheduled the market launch for October, though pricing details remain undisclosed.
