Mining profitability depends on the hashprice, which was approximately $40 per PH/s per day in late September 2026. Revenue is affected by electricity costs, pool fees, maintenance, and taxes. A difference of 2 rubles per kWh can reduce daily net income by more than half.

Pool selection impacts earnings through fee structures like PPLNS and PPS+. ViaBTC offers a 50% discount on pool fees for new users registering between October 16 and November 15, 2026. The discount applies to BTC, LTC, ZEC, BCH, KAS, and DASH for 30 days after activation.

In Russia, legal entities must register with the Federal Tax Service to mine. Individuals can operate without registration if their energy consumption does not exceed 6,000 kWh per month. Miners must report cryptocurrency holdings by the 20th of the following month.

Tax rates for mining vary: organizations pay a 25% profit tax, while individuals are subject to a progressive personal income tax of 13–22%. Mining and selling digital currency are exempt from VAT, though electricity and service costs may include it.

Regional mining bans are in effect across Russia. Restrictions apply in parts of the Irkutsk region, Buryatia, and Zabaykalsky Krai until March 15, 2031. In Moscow, the Moscow region, and parts of the Kursk region, bans are active from August 15, 2026, to December 31, 2032.
