Milence and Alpitronic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the deployment of megawatt charging infrastructure for electric trucks across Europe. The partnership focuses on integrating Alpitronic’s HYC1000 system, which offers charging power of up to 1,000 kW and enables charging times of 30 to 45 minutes.
The collaboration aims to expand the use of MCS connectors with seven contacts along key TEN-T corridors. Beyond hardware, the companies plan to integrate digital solutions for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and maintenance to improve charging availability and operational efficiency for fleet operators.
Milence, a joint venture founded in 2022 by Daimler Truck, Traton, and the Volvo Group, currently operates around 40 charging parks. The company plans to establish a network of 70 sites across Europe by the end of 2027. Recent demonstrations at IAA Transportation showcased the HYC1000 system alongside Pixii battery storage.
While Milence previously sourced CCS-based Hypercharger stations from Alpitronic, the new agreement marks a strategic shift toward the MCS sector. This move aligns with the rollout of MCS technology by OEMs like MAN, which has been offering the technology as standard for early adopters since July.
